Charitable Work
As well as tackling the issues surrounding food production, its impact on the environment and its sustainability, it is important to look at the other side of the coin. So much food is wasted in this country and if this food can be redictributed to those that are in need...so much the better. That's why we have teamed up with Food Cycle and The Trussell Trust. Find out more about them and their great work below.
FoodcycleFoodCycle combines young volunteers, surplus food and a free kitchen space to create nutritious meals and positive social change in the community!
The idea is simple. Food retailers throw out millions of tons of edible food every year due to supply overstock. The aim of FoodCycle is to redirect this food so it can be used to cook nutritious meals for people in the local community that do not have access to healthy foods for a variety of reasons, such as lack of income or knowledge of healthy nutrition.
The result? Personal health and well-being increase with proper nutrition, food waste is reduced, and young volunteers create positive change in their communities!
And for those who like numbers this means we have reclaimed 3,000 kg of food, served 6,000 three-course meals clocking over 3,000 volunteer hours!
We think they're great! In fact, we think that what they do is so great that we donate our products that retailers can't sell due to slight damages (e.g ripped labels etc) to them. Food waste is such a big problem in this country and if we all work together to cut this down we're moving in the right direction.

The Trussell TrustThe Trussell Trust is a Christian charity working to alleviate poverty, deprivation and despair in the UK and overseas. They give help direct to individuals and families through projects that are practical and sustainable.
We think they're great! In fact, we think that what they do is so great that they are the second charity we work with by donating our products that retailers can't sell due to slight damages. Food waste is such a big problem in this country and if we all work together to cut this down we're moving in the right direction.
