Chocolate BBQ Sauce

Our favourite way to have BBQ sauce – with a good kick of chocolate & cayenne pepper!

The perfect addition to your veggie burger or simply drizzled onto your chips!

INGREDIENTS

2 tbsp. Unsalted Vegan Butter
2 Cloves Garlic minced
1 Small Yellow Onion minced
30g Seed & Bean Extra Dark Chocolate chopped
3 cup packed Brown Sugar
4 cup Brewed Coffee
2 tbsp. Agave Nectar
2 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
2 tsp Dry Mustard
2 tsp Chilli Powder
2 tsp. Sea Salt
1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
2 tsp Ground Coriander
4 tsp Cayenne Pepper

METHOD

1. Melt butter in a medium size saucepan over medium heat.
2. Add garlic and onions and cook until the onions become translucent, about 6 minutes.
3. Stir in the chocolate, ketchup, sugar, coffee, vinegar, agave nectar, cocoa, Worcestershire, mustard, chilli powder, salt, pepper, coriander, and cayenne; cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 3 minutes.
4. Use right away or store refrigerated in an airtight container up to 1 week.
